Cycling week in Sharm:
February 11-18, 2006 In the magnificant South Sinai City of Peace
"Sharm El Sheikh"
Enjoy an action packed week of cycling lead by Italian professional cyclists: train, get in shape and then compete in unique event Granfondo Del Deserto 2006:
The start & Finish lines will be at Naama Bay Seaside Parking in front of Sharm Panorama. Cyclists will gather there starting at 9:30 AM to start the race at 10:00 AM. They will go right through Peace Road turn right behind the Airport and on to the Dahab dessert road. When reaching km 35 they will make a U-turn and head back to Sharm. Turning right on Peace road, riding all the way to the Old Market, up through Hadaba and back to Peace road to the Finish line at Naama Bay Seaside Parking.
The Naama Bay Seaside area will be the action place for most of the day where large gathering of spectators, family members, media. Music, Animation, refreshments, banners, sponsors displays,... should take peace. Along the route of the race there will be arrow signs, banners, refreshment points. As the race will go through crowded areas in Sharm, there should be more spectators and on lookers. The whole city of Sharm will feel the excitement of this important event.
Riders will go back to their hotels, shower, rest and dress up for the Pasta Party at Le Pacha. They will be bussed from their hotels to arrive there at 8:00 pm. This is the final presentation of prizes. It should last till 11:00 pm then people will have the choice of parting further or to return back to their hotels by bus."
